OpenFlow, developed by Beicip Franlab, is an open, workflow-driven platform that integrates and automates subsurface modeling for exploration and production. It connects Beicip Franlab applications and third-party simulators within a single, extensible framework, enabling reproducible workflows for sensitivity analysis, assisted history matching, uncertainty quantification, and optimization. The platform supports parallel and distributed runs on desktop, cluster, and cloud environments to accelerate large studies.
OpenFlow combines a visual workflow builder with optional scripting to streamline complex tasks, standardize processes, and reduce manual effort. It centralizes inputs, parameters, and results with full traceability, helping teams collaborate, audit changes, and maintain consistent modeling practices. Typical use cases include field development planning, reservoir surveillance, production forecasting, and exploration risk assessment.
By unifying tools and data, OpenFlow shortens cycle times, improves decision support, and enhances the reliability of subsurface evaluations—without locking users into a single simulator or vendor ecosystem. (Not to be confused with the networking protocol of the same name.)
OpenFlow is developed by Beicip Franlab. The most popular version of this product among our users is 2.0. The name of the program executable file is OpenFlow.exe.
